New Complete Home Design

GEORGIAN COUNTRY HOUSE: KITCHEN
The kitchen here initially featured stained wooden cabinets and with antique brass handles. The specific goal was to illuminate the ‘dark end of the kitchen’ and to breath new life into a dated and dark interior. To achieve this, we strategically addressed the light ratio by incorporating additional downlights and replacing conventional wall cabinets with custom backlit open shelving. A glazed tile splashback, encircling the kitchen, was introduced to enhance the overall aesthetic, while subtly metallic wallpaper played a role in reflecting light. The finishing touch included updating accessories, breathing new life into the refreshed kitchen space.
IO Design studio was involved with the project from concept, project co-ordination down to the finishing touches.
Creation of ‘the look’, bespoke joinery design, finishes, lighting, window treatments, furniture sourcing, styling, design pack for trades.

GEORGIAN COUNTRY HOUSE: GRAND ENTRANCE
This hallway underwent substantial flooring enhancements under our careful oversight. The once carpeted floor required extensive re-leveling to pave the way for the installation of exquisite solid wood Versailles-style parquet floors. Making a bold statement in the Grande Entrance of this English country home is the Gucci chinoiserie paper. Complementing this, a chandelier adds an elegant touch, casting a warm glow over the carefully curated space.
To enhance the overall aesthetic, the cornice was reinstated with an acanthus leaf design, seamlessly echoing the artwork in the wallpaper. The hallway is further adorned with an antique sideboard, adding a touch of timeless charm to this transformed space.

GEORGIAN COUNTRY HOUSE: DINING ROOM
Step into the refined ambiance of a traditional dining room transformation within this Grade II listed Georgian house, where historical charm meets contemporary comfort. Our design pays homage to the elegance of the era, incorporating period- appropriate elements while infusing modern conveniences.
The focal point of this dining space is a magnificent marble surround fireplace, adding an extra layer of opulence and warmth. Muted, rich tones complement ornate detailing on classic wooden
furnishings and upholstery, seamlessly blending with the historic architectural features. Statement chandeliers illuminate the room, casting a soft glow that enhances the intricate detailing.

Georgian Country Home

Georgian Townhouse Bathroom

A whimsical and detailed bathroom in a Georgian townhouse. This project included re-levelling an even floor, plumbing, re-wiring, sourcing artwork, re-enamelling a beautiful, stand alone antique bath, bespoke shaker style panelling, moodboards, visuals, sample boards, project management and working to a budget. 

Shrewsbury Townhouse Bathroom

North Street

This project was completed in 2019. It worked off the clients breif which was to be playful and eclectic. The client wanted to use mostly neutral colours to let their collection of artwork shine through. 

IO Design Studio removed an internal wall, working with a structural engineer and builders to install a steal beam in place of the wall. We also designed an open plan living and kitchen area, installed new flooring, light fittings and maximised the natural light in the space.
